The Gala benefits the Alaska Jewish Campus, home to the Alaska Jewish Museum and Cultural Center and the renowned Gan Yeladim Early Learning Center, a leading multicultural early childhood education provider.We Are Looking For:A dynamic and detail-oriented Event Planner to orchestrate our upcoming Gala. The ideal candidate thrives in a team-oriented environment, pays meticulous attention to detail with minimal supervision, and possesses excellent leadership skills. This is a seasonal position offering the opportunity to create a memorable and impactful event.This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact. Initially part-time (June-July), transitioning to full-time (August-October), you'll work closely with our Program Directors to orchestrate every aspect of the Gala. ).Manage light, audio, and video production (including outsourcing if needed).Catering Coordination:Maintain meticulous attention to schedule, timeliness, quality control, and quantities.On-Site Management:Oversee on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown.Maintain consistent, high-level service throughout all phases.Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the event.Maintain sensitivity to cultural requirements.Dedicated Event Availability:Assume full responsibility for all event needs from Friday noon (November 8th, 2025) until Saturday night (November 9th, 2025).Post-Event:Oversee post-event debrief and reporting.Gather feedback for continuous improvement.Required Skills and Qualifications:Events management: 2 years (Required)Customer service: 2 years (Required)Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in event planning or coordination, ideally with experience in fundraising or non-profit events.Strong Communication and Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain positive business relationships with vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders.Exceptional Organization and Time Management: Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, able to multitask effectively and manage competing priorities while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets.Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the event planning and execution process.Adaptability and Flexibility: A flexible and adaptable approach to problem-solving, able to adjust plans as needed to ensure a successful event.Passion for the Mission: A genuine interest in supporting the mission of the Alaska Jewish Campus and contributing to a vibrant community event.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field.Proven track record of success in event planning and coordination, ideally with experience in fundraising or non-profit events.Experience in marketing or public relations, demonstrating the ability to promote events and engage audiences effectively.Familiarity with auction software (Greater Giving) or similar platforms, showcasing proficiency in managing auction events and maximizing fundraising potential.Experience with the online auction platform Greater Giving is HIGHLY preferred.To Apply:Please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your relevant experience and passion for event planning.We look forward to hearing from you!
