The University of Vermont Foundation The University of Vermont Foundation Burlington, VT Burlington, VT Full-time Full-time $50,000 - $70,000 a year $50,000 - $70,000 a year ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF EVENTS JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Events, UVM Foundation REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Events EXPECTED SALARY RANGE: $50,000-70,000; plus, the UVM Foundation's progressive benefits package which includes: a comprehensive health plan; dental, vision, and life insurance; a robust paid time off package; a 403(b) plan with immediate vesting and contributions; and tuition remission. The UVM Foundation has a hybrid work policy that allows for some remote time, but due to the nature of this position on-site work will be required on a regular basis. This work will be done in collaboration with teams across the organization and with partners throughout the University. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 20% Event Strategy Collaborate with Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, and Donor Experience teams to develop engagement strategies to deepen the donor relationship Use data effectively to inform the development of appropriate strategies Organize collaborative visioning and planning meetings that engage appropriate members of the Foundation 40% Event Planning & Execution Execute a portfolio of signature events, including but not limited to: 50th Reunion, UVM Weekend and programs celebrating scholarship Coordinate planning group meetings including: scheduling and facilitating meetings, creating agendas, circulating meeting notes, and articulating clear roles for planning group members Ensure that event plans focus on the donors' experience with clearly articulated programming components, collateral needs, speaking remarks, and have a post-event stewardship plan in place. Participate in campus Safety Meetings as a representative of the Foundation Staff campus-wide events in support of partners 15% Support work of the Event Team as a Whole Provide staffing support for events that others on the team are coordinating Assist with event material development and production Perform data entry and system tracking Special projects as needed 5% Other duties as assigned Minimum Skills & Abilities High emotional intelligence, ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships Demonstrated passion for community building and event management Proven abilities in strategic planning, event planning and execution, problem-solving, and translating departmental objectives into action plans with specific goals, timelines, and outcomes Ability to prioritize heavy workload, manage multiple ongoing tasks, and meet deadlines in a time-constrained environment High degree of professionalism and professional ethics with demonstrated personal integrity, discretion, diplomacy, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality Outstanding organizational abilities and very strong attention to detail Demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion Commitment to the mission and values of the University of Vermont Foundation Valid Drivers License Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
