Assistant Director of Event Services

Job Title The Assistant Director of Catering and Events will be responsible for assisting the Director of C&E to achieve superior business results in areas of guest service, team member engagement, financial outcomes, strategic leadership, talent development, culture, innovation, and event operations. Responsibilities • Negotiation of business through proposals and contracts • Creative design of menus and events • Maintenance of existing relationships with corporate and social accounts • Event documentation, coordination with Sales, other hotel departments, and customers to ensure consistent high-level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases of all hotel events Key Responsibilities • Ensuring a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales • Recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events • Serving as the primary contact following turnover on property • Supporting and acting on behalf of the Director of Catering and Events or Director of Event Planning and Operations Additional Responsibilities • Overseeing short, medium, and long-term forecasting and actual cost reporting for events Requirements A minimum education of High School Degree/GED, a minimum of three years of Hospitality related experience at manager level, and two years of experience in event management are required. Key skills include project management, process management, 10% travel, writing, communicating effectively in writing, reading comprehension, oral comprehension, basic computer skills, customer and personal service, and number facility.
