Position Summary: Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking an Assistant Director of Event Planning. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of the Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick, the Assistant Director of Event Planning will be responsible for conceptualizing... planning, budgeting and executing a wide range of strategic events, including conferences, symposiums, seminars, program launches, dinners, graduations, and convocations for all the departments and units under the Rutgers Business School, and its corporate partners and affiliates for domestic, international, on campus and off-campus programs. The incumbent will be required to collaborate with Events and Conference Services on any joint initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with Newark campus initiatives, organizational priorities, and strategic objectives. Minimum Education and Experience: • Requires a bachelor's degree in education, operations management, communications, or a related area • Requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in event planning or related complex management system Physical Demands and Work Environment: Will be required to attend and/or be available during events (evenings/weekends) and travel within the state to other campuses (Newark, New Brunswick, Camden) and off-site locations; Lift 40lbs
