Assistant Director of Event Management and Facility OperationsPosting Number: S15115PDepartment: Athletics—Event ManagementUniversity: University of Georgia, Athens, GAPosition Overview Oversees the planning and implementation of varsity sporting events for the UGA Athletic Association, including various SEC and NCAA Championship events hosted on campus.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experiencePreferred Qualifications Experience in event planning and facility operationsKnowledge of NCAA, SEC, and UGA regulations related to event managementStrong communication and problem‑solving skillsAbility to manage budgets and create operation manualsKey Responsibilities Manage operations surrounding various varsity athletic events, primarily Swim/Dive and Volleyball (40% of time).Oversee facility operations at the Ramsey Center and Boyd Golf Center, including repairs and upgrades (25% of time).Create event plans with athletic trainers, facility staff, fan engagement, and sports communications personnel (10% of time).Delegate responsibilities to event staff during events; correspond with game officials, SEC officials, and NCAA liaisons (10% of time).Develop and maintain Game Expense budgets for supervised sports and post‑season competition; create operation manuals for UGA supervised sports and tournament manuals for SEC and NCAA Championship events (10% of time).Implement crisis management and inclement weather plans; ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC, and UGA rules and regulations (5% of time).Physical DemandsWalk or sit for extended periods of time.Lift up to 40 pounds.Maintain visual acuity for close and distance vision, and peripheral vision.Work in moderate to high noise levels during practice and athletic competitions.Drive as needed to perform job duties.EEO StatementThe University of Georgia is an Equal Opportunity employer.
