Assistant Professor of Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Planning

This is a tenure-track, ten-month position with a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications... The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda in their expertise, teach courses serving the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Planning program, and provide service to the program, school, and university. The teaching responsibilities include the following courses: Tourism, Planning, and Development; Principles of Event Management, and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of specialty. An earned doctorate in Tourism, Hospitality, and/or Events or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment Demonstrated potential to develop a successful research program in Tourism, Hospitality, and/or event planning Evidence of teaching effectiveness Effective communication and interpersonal skills A record of teaching and research in tourism, hospitality, and/or events Experience with undergraduate teaching in the discipline Experience in creating applied learning experiences and opportunities for students Experience in the tourism, hospitality, and event planning industry
