Position Overview:

As the Associate Director of Event Management, you will lead and oversee activities within the Meeting Management Department as well as manage our third-party meeting partners. This role is essential for planning, coordinating, and executing Consumer Health and Radiology company events, along with other special projects. In collaboration with various stakeholders, you will create an annual schedule for internal and customer meetings and events, acting as a primary business partner for these engagements.

Your Responsibilities:

Plan and execute executive-level meetings, drawing on your strong background in managing meetings across various sizes and levels for different departments.

Lead the account management for all product launches and national sales/business meetings, ensuring seamless coordination.

Develop and maintain solid relationships within the Consumer Health and Radiology divisions to optimize the meeting management process based on business needs.

Supervise and mentor third-party Meeting Managers/Planners for approximately 400 annual meetings/events, ensuring all responsibilities are managed effectively.

Address complex issues that impact divisional objectives, guiding team members in overcoming challenges associated with meetings and events.

Oversee internal teams and external suppliers to guarantee compliance with budgets, timelines, and quality standards throughout all meetings and events.

Collaborate with third-party services to direct centralized sourcing and contracting programs, applying your negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and manage legal considerations.

Identify opportunities to improve meeting costs and procedures, create RFPs, and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.

Develop communication strategies connecting various departments with meeting management suppliers to align with company objectives, working in partnership with Finance on budget strategies.

Participate in setting annual objectives for third-party management and provide constructive feedback on their performance.

Assume additional responsibilities as required and maintain confidentiality throughout all phases of your role.

Who You Are:

Bayer is seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 7 years of meeting management experience.

Proven experience managing staff, including third-party teams, and optimizing departmental procedures to achieve objectives.

Expertise in developing Standard Operating Procedures.

Experience in developing and managing annual meeting schedules for divisions/business units, demonstrating excellent project management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.

Experience with Cvent.

Willingness to travel at least 40% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree.

Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification.

Familiarity with the complexities involved in planning, negotiating, and executing business meetings.

Employees can expect a salary range between $112,400 to $168,600, with potential bonuses or commissions. Benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement plans, PTO, sick leave, among others.
