Catering and Events Coordinator

45,000 base salary plus commission Events & Catering Coordinator Hal & Mal’s and The Walk-In, Jackson, MS Position Summary: Hal & Mal’s and The Walk-In are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Events & Catering Coordinator to lead the planning and execution of onsite private events, and special gatherings, as well as offsite catering for social, corporate, and nonprofit clients. This role offers a base salary plus commission, providing excellent earning potential for a motivated individual who consistently drives new business and delivers exceptional service. Key Responsibilities: Onsite Event Coordination (Hal & Mal’s + The Walk-In): • Manage all aspects of private events, including weddings, receptions, concerts, and corporate functions • Conduct tours, coordinate event logistics with kitchen and bar staff, and serve as the client liaison throughout planning and execution • Develop and maintain event packages and pricing materials tailored to different venue spaces • Oversee setup and breakdown in coordination with operations staff What We’re Looking For: • Proven experience in event planning, catering sales, or hospitality coordination • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities • Self-starter with the drive to meet and exceed sales goals • Knowledge of the Jackson, MS event and F&B scene required • Onsite presence during events • Ability to coordinate staff towards sustained demand for performance and during dates with multiple events
