Catering Event Planner

We are seeking an Event Planner for a special events, off-premise catering company, located in Philadelphia. Come join our team of creative event professionals! The duties and responsibilities of the Event Planner are as follows... • Plan special events from menu proposal through event booking, and followup; • Oversee all aspects of your events from writing menus, procuring décor & floral, logistical set up needs, placing & managing rentals, working with vendor needs, timelines, and day-of execution of events; • Manage, and lead, day-of event team; • Maintain, and build, relationships with current corporate & social clients, as well as acquire new business through networking; • Light marketing & social media tasks Qualifications • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments simultaneously; • Must be extremely detail oriented; • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism; • Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision; • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality; • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but significant work experience can substitute for the degree; • At least 3 years of experience with event planning, preferably in the hospitality industry; • At least 3 year of sales experience; • At least 3 year experience in food service; • Must have a passion for food; • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Office (including Excel); knowledge of Caterease Software is a plus; • In addition to your regular hours, some night and weekend work is required. • Manages multiple projects concurrently and must work well under pressure • Possesses extensive computer knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and more) • Must be flexible with schedule, able to attend/ execute special events outside of normal work hours • We offer competitive wages, bonuses, and outstanding benefits inclusive of paid time off, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, 401(K) retirement plans.
