About the Role Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Catering Event Planner to manage a diverse portfolio of events in the Detroit metropolitan area. This role requires a proactive individual who can expertly guide clients through the planning process, from initial concept to flawless execution. You will be responsible for coordinating all event logistics, including menu selection, staffing, vendor liaison, and on-site management, ensuring every event reflects the client's vision and our client's high standards of service. Key Responsibilities Consult with clients to understand their event needs, preferences, and budget, offering expert guidance on menu and service options. Develop comprehensive event plans, including timelines, staffing schedules, and vendor coordination. Oversee the execution of catering events on-site, ensuring smooth service delivery and immediate resolution of any issues. Manage relationships with external vendors, such as florists, rental companies, and entertainers. Ensure all events adhere to company standards for quality, safety, and presentation. Maintain accurate event records, including contracts, client communications, and post-event follow-ups. Requirements 2-4 years of experience in event planning, coordination, or a related role within the hospitality or catering industry. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, event logistics, and client management. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event management software. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
