Job Summary • Reports to: Director of Sales • Manages: Event Producer • Full time • On location: The Works and other DSquared Venues • Salary $50,000- $54,000 • Non-exempt -eligible for overtime • Commission up to $12,000 Specific Responsibilities Management: • Evaluating, responding to, communicating, and following up on client inquiries • Addressing and resolving any client issues/concerns • Creating catering proposals based on established company standards, and negotiating these standards based on industry trends and best practices • Fostering and maintaining existing customer relationships through top-notch hospitality and a Guest First approach to customer service • Attending local industry events and responsibly representing company ideals • Creating partnerships with other industry professionals to enhance and expand the Company’s catering business • Coordinating and communicating ideas and requests to internal staff for proper planning and execution • Attending catering events as needed • Creating, evaluating and refining systems, inquiry tracking reports, and rental spreadsheets • Responsible for organizing, planning execution of, and following up on all event details • Track individual sales weekly, monthly, and yearly based on predetermined annual goal • If Senior Event Manager: responsible for supervising and effectively delegating to Event Producer • Personnel Management: • Motivating, supporting, and encouraging service staff to ensure the best possible service, and retention of good staff • Directing Lead Server in event execution • Business Development: • Creating new business by seeking out opportunities in the community for one-time events and future, on-going business/client partnerships • Expanding the business through increasing client base and creating sustainable business and client relationships • Attending regular networking events to generate new leads for potential business • Maintaining and cultivating past clients to generate repeat business • Attending vendor open houses (e.g., at least two per quarter) to generate new leads • Other duties as assigned from time to time Recommended Skills and Responsibilities • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Working knowledge of MS Office • Knowledge of Caterease and Social Tables is preferred • Must be highly knowledgeable of current food and beverage trends and menu development • Strong attention to detail and follow up actions • Self-motivated and goal oriented • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to relate to a wide range of people, including a demonstrated ability to engage guests, service staff, and community contacts, and build/maintain relationships with local venues, vendors, and other business partners • Ability to listen to and resolve issues while maintaining a calm and professional disposition • Excellent time and task management skills; ability to multi-task and manage time between diverse responsibilities • Keeping goals and incentives in a healthy perspective to manage the best interests of the business • Ability to think creatively and react productively in challenging situations • Ability to demonstrate empathy to clients and staff • Ability to work a variable schedule, depending upon event needs • Recommended Experience & Education • A Demonstrated experience in executing catering and special events • Demonstrated experience in building and applying business sales systems and tools • High school degree or equivalent; college degree preferred PTO after 6 months • Staff meal per shift • 30% Employee discount at Market Hall and other DSquared restaurants (Muse and David’s & Co at Benaroya Hall • Employee discounts or comps to shows at Benaroya Hall • Free parking • Insurance Benefits: Eligible for DSquared health benefits effective the first of the month following 60 days of full time employment - working full-time is 30+ hours a week for 8 consecutive weeks DSquared will pay 75% of your medical and dental insurance premium.
