Community Relations Director/Event Planner

The Community Relations Director/Event Planner at Summerhouse Houston (SHH) supports the Executive Director and Board of Directors by developing and coordinating fundraising strategies, managing events, and overseeing the organization’s social media, marketing, public relations, and community outreach efforts. This role is a key member of SHH’s leadership team. Promote Mission and Vision – Develop and implement strategies to communicate SHH’s mission and vision to: • The general community • Prospective member families and service recipients • Staff members • Volunteers • Current and prospective donors Special Event Planning and Execution – Lead planning, execution, and follow-up of fundraising events, including: • Collaborating with the board’s fundraising committee to create concept • Preparing and managing budgets • Securing venues, catering, entertainment, silent auction or raffle items, and activities • Coordinating guest lists and invitations • Recruiting, assigning, and overseeing volunteers • Tracking expenses and ensuring budget compliance Support Fund Development – Partner with the Executive Director to plan and implement fundraising and donor stewardship efforts.
