USF Research & Innovation (USFRI), a vice presidential division, is charged with the central administration and oversight of the USF research enterprise. USFRI promotes research; stimulates economic development and corporate partnerships; provides services and assistance to facilitate faculty, staff, and student research efforts; ensures compliance with research-related laws, regulations, and policies of federal, state, sponsoring agencies and organizations, and the university; and provides for the protection and promotion of intellectual property generated by USF System employees. The USFRI Conference and Events Planner reports to the USFRI Director of Operations within the VP Office, and is the primary liaison with internal units and external constituents, providing organizational leadership in developing, implementing and overseeing conferences, workshops, events, and public functions. This position is responsible for independently planning, scheduling, and implementing conferences, workshops, seminars, webinars, and other special events; and coordinating event planning efforts with sponsoring members of USFRI, USF colleges, departments, centers, institutes, and/or the external community as appropriate. Plans, schedules, and monitors all logistical activities for special events, including arrangements for registration, facilities, meals/catering, lodging, IT, vendors, volunteers, transportation and tours, and oversees/manages events on site.
