About the position Responsibilities • Respond to inquiries from the website, phone calls and other online event services • Provide venue tours to potential clients • Computerized scheduling of events, pre-event planning, pricing, on-site event management, setup/takedown • Prepare rental agreements • Collect, process and track payments for external events • Prepare event diagrams for clients and event staff • Effectively communicate and enforce university policies • Inspect building facilities and equipment, process work orders and follow up • Provide problem resolution and customer service with facility users • Coordinate services with other departments and vendors, including Safety, Facilities, IT, NBC Administration and others • Complete accurate and thorough facilities reports • Serve on a variety of campus and community committees as needed • On-site event management required on some evenings and weekends • Supervise bar service events • Make recommendations on policies and pricing • Functionally supervise Event Staff, Evening Supervisor, Office Assistant, Bartender positions • Create bar service agreements • Collect, process and track payments for bar service • Make recommendations on bar service policies and pricing • Determine the Audio/Visual needs for events • Knowledgeable of equipment setup, operation of equipment during the event and equipment teardown after the event • Other duties as assigned Requirements • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience • One or more years of experience in event planning • Must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various event needs with or without reasonable accommodations Benefits • Generous time off • A retirement plan that provides two-for-one matching contributions with immediate vesting • Many choices for comprehensive health insurance • Life insurance • Long-term disability coverage • Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses • Employee and qualified dependent tuition support
