ORGANIZATION: Chicago Cubs Our business is a team sport that began on a field with baseballs and bats and has evolved into one of the most recognizable brands in sports and entertainment through Cubs baseball and live events. In support of that effort, we expect associates to work primarily in our office. • Support the Senior Manager, Events and Operations in the curation, planning and execution of all Gallagher Way events and if applicable, other events across the Wrigley Field campus • Maintain a 365-day Gallagher Way programming calendar, focusing on spring, summer and fall programming initiatives, while supporting the Senior Manager, Events and Operations in identifying opportunities for programming growth and optimization • Support the operating budgets for each event series and assist in the preparation for the annual operating budget review • Provide support in the negotiation and facilitate the execution of contracts with programming partners, performers, vendors, and service providers • Serve as manager on duty, as scheduled, to support non-baseball events • Maintain pre-and-post event briefs and analyses for continuous program improvement • Establish and maintain rapport with tenant partners, clients, vendors, internal team and related departments • Support the permitting process for event related permits with the City of Chicago • Act as liaison between client, preferred vendors and all internal event support functions • Process invoices and expenses through accounts payable system to ensure timely payment to vendors • Conduct appropriate market research, network, and maintain up-to-date industry • Perform other duties as assigned • Four-year undergraduate degree at an accredited university or college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • 1-2 years of professional work experience in events and/or operations, or similar relevant experience • Ability to work non-traditional hours, year-round, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as dictated by the event schedule • Demonstrated passion and ability to deliver a high level of service to a diverse set of internal and external clients • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with an approach to problem solving that is both open-minded and collaborative • Experience in documenting and tracking event timelines to ensure seamless execution • Experienced in Microsoft Office applications • Demonstrated communication, writing and presentation skills • Strong knowledge of Chicago's cultural arts, music, and festival scene
