CULTURAL EVENT CURATOR

Purpose

The Cultural Event Curator provides leadership for the cultural vision, educational content, community storytelling, performances, cultural food experiences, and overall participant experience for the Juneteenth Celebration.

Responsibilities

Pre-Event

Develop cultural theme and programming.Coordinate performers, storytellers, speakers, and cultural presenters.Assist with development of culturally relevant marketing content.Provide review of promotional materials for cultural accuracy.Coordinate cultural demonstrations, exhibits, and activities.Support planning of culturally significant food experiences.Coordinate with media and outreach efforts by providing cultural content and event messaging.Participate in planning meetings and programming development.Event Day

Coordinate performers and presenters.Assist with stage transitions and programming flow.Support audience engagement and educational activities.Troubleshoot programming needs.Coordinate cultural exhibits and demonstrations.Post-Event

Gather feedback from performers and presenters.Document cultural programming outcomes.Assist with collection of stories, testimonials, and event highlights.Participate in event evaluation and debrief activities.Develop recommendations for future cultural programming.Qualifications

Minimum 5 years coordinating cultural programming, festivals, or community events.Knowledge of African American history, culture, and traditions.Strong community relationships.Experience working with performers, artists, educators, and community leaders.
