Dir. of Events at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY

This key position reports to the Senior Director of Events and Derby Operations and directly oversees the Events and Conversions Teams at the racetrack. The events and conversions teams coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure details such as room sets, d cor, catering, entertainment, transportation, special guests, equipment, and promotional materials are provided. Essential Functions: Manage and develop team of Senior Managers, Event managers, part time and seasonal staff who take care of clients from the time a contract is signed to the time they leave the facility. Ensures that all internal departments are informed of onsite events, understand the expected needs for each event and are prepared to meet obligations required for the successful event execution. Strong management and delegation skills.
