The Director of Event Planning at Savour Hospitality plays a critical leadership role in managing the event planning functions and overseeing the event planning staff daily. This position is pivotal for ensuring smooth transitions between event phases, managing both pre-event and post-event activities while maintaining a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back. The Director is entrusted with maximizing revenue opportunities through precise forecasting and upselling strategies for catering and group events, alongside supervising the financial health of the department. Primary responsibilities include assigning events to the planning team, managing complex or high-profile groups, championing standard policies and procedures, and maintaining a service-focused approach to ensure guest and employee satisfaction. This role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and empower staff, and a strong operational mindset focused on delivering an outstanding event experience. The Director also plays an essential part in reviewing guest feedback, spearheading improvements, and fostering a positive, hospitable environment. High school diploma or equivalent
Degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business, or related field preferred
Minimum 4 years of related experience
Knowledge of accounting systems preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Able to work various shifts including weekends and evenings
Physical ability to occasionally lift or move up to 80 pounds
