Other duties may be assigned.Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfactionLead and supervises the banquet teamEnsure physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the meeting space, including inspecting furniture, fixtures and equipmentTake initiative to develop and execute new eventsConduct monthly staff meetings to include ongoing training and safety classesResponsible for daily report input and log book entriesEnforce high standards of hygiene and sanitation within the departmentTrack payroll and revenue dailyEnsure the security of monies, credit and financial transactionsWork with Assistant Director of Food and Beverage to establish par levels for supplies and equipmentSupervise the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance, and conduct of teamManage timely completion of performance appraisalsMonitor time punches in payroll processing system, ensuring accurate payroll for all associatesMonitor and maintains the banquet departments’ systems and equipment to ensure their optimum performanceProvide prompt follow-up to all guest concernsAssist the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage with the design and implementation of training programsEmpower team to exceed service standardsInstill a calm, organized approach in all stressful situationsWork with HR to recruit and hire staffComplete all proper new hire and termination paperworkOrder all necessary office supplies and ensures proper stocking levelsMaintain a safe and pleasant work environmentEnsure cleanliness of the banquet departments’ storage roomsPromote high associate moraleRecommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate of team membersTake a proactive approach to coaching and counselingAttend appropriate resort, division and department meetingsResolve guest issues promptly and with great care and effectivenessMaintain a strong knowledge of hospitality trends, especially food & beverageUtilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costsOffer warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Oglebay Resort including use of guest name and good eye contact with each guestMaintain an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special eventsInteract with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary informationAlways maintain a professional demeanor and attitudeCommunicate all pertinent information to the banquet teamMaintain constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons); reports any/all safety incidents to maintenanceEnsure proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silverMaintain a professional appearance; follows all Oglebay Resort dress code standardsRemain alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all timePosses excellent computer skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programsAble to work in a fast paced environment, display excellent leadership skills while being a positive example for staffComplete appropriate trainings listed on the human resources Training MatrixAdhere to Wheeling Park Commission’s safety rules and policy; refer any and all safety…
