JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Creative Services is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the Creative Services team at Just Right! Destination Management. This role oversees the full creative lifecycle from concept development to proposal delivery, ensuring that all creative output reflects the company’s standards of excellence, feasibility, and brand alignment.

This leader directly supervises the Creative Managers and Creative Coordinators, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance management, and serves as the final creative reviewer for all proposals before they are shared with clients. The Director of Creative Services partners closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Director of Operations to support business development goals, elevate proposal quality, and drive creative innovation.

The Director of Creative Services is responsible for creative workflow, team resourcing, process optimization, and the long‑term development of creative talent, ensuring that the creative function operates efficiently, collaboratively, and in alignment with company strategy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Department Leadership & Team Management

·    Directly supervises the Creative Managers and Creative Coordinators, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance management.

·    Oversees staffing, workload distribution, and resource planning to ensure timely and high-quality creative output.

·    Conducts regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and development planning for all creative team members.

·    Leads hiring, onboarding, and training for the Creative Services department.

·    Fosters a collaborative, supportive, and high-performance team culture.

Creative Strategy & Concept Development

·    Leads the development of innovative, experiential concepts that align with client goals and reflect the unique attributes of each destination.

·    Translates client needs, industry trends, and destination insights into compelling creative solutions.

·    Ensures all creative concepts are operationally feasible and financially sound through collaboration with the Operations Team.

·    Serves as the final creative reviewer for all proposals, ensuring accuracy, cohesion, brand alignment, and creative excellence.

Creative Workflow & Operational Excellence

·    Owns the creative workflow from proposal intake through delivery, ensuring efficiency, clarity, and accountability.

·    Develops and maintains creative processes, templates, tools, and best practices, including building and maintaining the creative collateral library, to support consistent, scalable operations.

·    Ensures proposals meet internal standards for accuracy, feasibility, and creative excellence.

·    Partners with Operations to validate feasibility, pricing alignment, and logistical considerations for proposed concepts.

·    Monitors proposal volume, turnaround times, and team capacity to optimize performance.

Creative Quality & Standards

·    Establishes and upholds creative standards, guidelines, and brand alignment across all proposals and creative deliverables.

·    Provides structured feedback to Creative Managers and Creative Coordinators to strengthen proposal quality and creative execution.

·    Reviews complex or high-value proposals as needed to ensure quality and consistency.

Vendor & Resource Management

·    Develops and maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge base of vendor partners nationwide, including their capabilities, service offerings, and regional pricing differences.

·    Leverages this vendor knowledge base and established vendor relationships to identify the best-fit partners for each proposal, strengthening creative quality, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness.

Training, Development & Culture Building

·    Leads the development and delivery of creative training programs for all JR teams, strengthening company-wide creative fluency and proposal quality.

·    Provides mentorship and skill development across the creative team.

·    Identifies skill gaps and creates development plans to support team growth and advancement.

·    Participates in onboarding and initial training for new Creative Team members.

·    Champions a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Department Collaboration

·    Serves as the primary creative partner to the Director of Sales & Marketing, aligning creative output with business development goals.

·    Works closely with the Director of Operations to ensure creative concepts translate seamlessly into execution.

·    Participates in client meetings, site visits, and presentations as needed to support creative strategy and proposal positioning.

Client Engagement & Presentation

·    Presents creative concepts to clients with clarity, confidence, and storytelling expertise.

·    Tailors creative recommendations based on client industry, brand, preferences, and objectives.

·    Supports Sales in identifying new creative opportunities that enhance client acquisition and retention.

ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS:

·    Ensures all creative work aligns with JRDM’s brand, values, and service offerings.

·    Maintains a strong understanding of destination trends, hospitality market insights, and industry innovations.

·    Attends company trainings, staff meetings, networking functions, and client meetings.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

·     Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.

·     8+ years of experience in creative, experiential, or event‑related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

·     Demonstrated success leading creative teams and managing creative workflow in a fast‑paced environment.

·     Strong portfolio showcasing creative strategy, storytelling, and experiential design.

·     Expertise in design and presentation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint).

·     Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

·     Strong organizational and project‑management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

·     Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and personality types.

·     Highly motivated self-starter; comfortable working independently and remotely.

·     Willingness to travel and participate in site visits, client meetings, and creative development activities.

·     Ability to work reliably from home with appropriate equipment and connectivity.

WORKING CONDITIONS

·    This is a remote position; the majority of work will be performed at home. Some work may be done on-site or in a workspace leased by the company for this purpose.

·    The physical work environment for this role may require the employee to work both inside and outside with the potential for exposure to heat, cold, rain, and humidity in the course of performing site inspections, attending client meetings, and similar sales-related appointments.

·    Employee may be required to lift up to 20 pounds in the course of performing this role.

·    Employee may be required to work weekends, nights, and be on-call as a regular part of the job.

·    This role requires driving locally in the employee’s personal vehicle and the employee must maintain up-to-date licensure and registration.
