Director of Event Management

Job Title: Director of Events and Management Education Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client for a Director of Events and Management Education. Lead the end-to-end execution of events and educational programs, including planning, logistics, vendor coordination, and post-event analysisOversee a calendar of approximately 10–12 annual events, including large-scale programs and smaller networking or training sessionsDevelop and manage budgets, track financial performance, and identify opportunities to maximize revenue and cost efficiencyCreate and execute engaging professional development offerings such as workshops, webinars, and industry trainingsCollaborate with internal teams, members, and committees to align programming with industry needs and organizational goalsManage venue sourcing, contract negotiation, catering, and all event-related logisticsSupport marketing efforts by contributing to promotional strategies and maintaining visibility across digital platformsSupervise and mentor a junior events team member, providing guidance and support in executionBuild and maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders to enhance event quality and engagementTrack attendance, engagement metrics, and feedback to continuously improve programming 7+ years of experience in Full Cycle Event Management ideally within a trade association or membership organizationExperience managing at least one direct report highly preferredBachelor’s degree requiredMust have proven experience managing events specifically within Maryland regional locationProven ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecastingProficiency in Microsoft Office and event registration or database systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively in a small team, “all hands on deck” environmentComfortable interfacing with members, vendors, and leadership in a professional setting Addison Group complies with applicable state and local laws governing non-discrimination in employment in every location in which the company has facilities.
