The Convention Services Director leads and directs the entire Convention Services department at Gaylord Opryland Resort. The director is responsible for leader performance evaluations, setting departmental goals, and developing training plans to support professional growth and succession planning within the team. In addition, this role demands vigilant adherence to operational policies and life safety codes, ensuring the consistent application of standards throughout the department. • High school diploma or GED • 5 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales, marketing, or related professional area • OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major • 3 years experience in event management or related professional area • Strong leadership skills • Excellent communication skills • Ability to manage budgets and forecasts • Knowledge of life safety codes and regulations • Proficiency in developing and executing strategic plans • Experience in employee training and development • Commitment to exceptional customer service
