Director of Events

Position Summary: The Director of Events will be responsible for executing multiple large and small-scale events throughout the year which may require design and creation, implementation and execution, solicitation of sponsorships and in-kind gifts, collaboration among Board members and other... leaders. This position requires a leader that is highly organized, able to multi-task, has excellent communication skills, and excited to be part of a fun team; ensuring that Dragonfly’s image and mission are communicated properly. • Excellent time-management, organization and record keeping skills • A positive and energetic attitude • A strong desire to meet goals and commitments on or before deadlines/expectations • Excellent client interaction, teamwork and leadership skills • Work with Dragonfly team members and volunteers to create new event opportunities • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to be self-directed • Excellent time-management, organization and record keeping skills • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends • Dedication, motivation, drive, ambition, and commitment to the job at hand • Effective problem-solving and mediation skills • Must be present at Dragonfly’s five largest events and additional events throughout the year • Must be willing to submit to a background check, sign a confidentiality agreement • Must have own transportation to and from work and for work-related responsibilities Primary Duties & Responsibilities: • Plan and execute all fundraising events throughout the year (this includes an annual gala, golf outing, motorcycle ride, pickleball tournament, December radiothon and multiple smaller events) • Create, with assistance from a graphic designer and Director of Communications & Marketing, all marketing and solicitation materials • Build relationships with current corporate, community, and individual partners • Work with multiple vendors on a variety of events on a regular basis • Manage event volunteers • Serve as point of contact for third-party events and fundraisers • Collaborate with VP of Development on identifying and soliciting new corporate donors & sponsors • Communicate and organize employees and volunteers, including members of the Board, as needed • Create event budgets, track income and expenses, and communicate with VP of Finance on a regular basis • Create, record and track all event logistics in tools available – Salesforce, Google applications, Excel
