Director of Events

About the Role

Do you love running, craft beer, and community events? We’re looking for an energetic, organized, and outgoing Director of Events to plan and execute our Brewery Running Series events across Milwaukee and the surrounding metro area.

You’ll take the lead on creating memorable 5K fun runs that start and end at local breweries — blending fitness, community, and fun!

What You’ll Do

Event Planning & Coordination

Plan and execute 6–20 fun run (5K) events per year.Partner with local breweries to host events and coordinate logistics.Design 5K courses and manage event permits, supplies, and setup.Hire, train, and lead a team of support staff, brand ambassadors, and volunteers.Build partnerships and sponsorships with local and national businesses.Work closely with local nonprofits to raise awareness and donations at each event.

Event Day Leadership

Oversee event setup, registration, and volunteer coordination.Serve as event emcee and main point of contact for breweries, sponsors, and participants.Ensure smooth execution of every event — from start to finish line (and beer line!).

Marketing & Promotion

Manage and grow social media presence (Instagram, Facebook).Design and send newsletters via Mailchimp.Promote events through grassroots outreach, posters, and digital ads.Write and distribute press releases for each season.

Operations & Collaboration

Manage accounting and budgets for your event series.Attend national team meetings and contribute to overall brand growth strategy.Work with other series directors and HQ to ensure event consistency.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in event planning, marketing, or promotions (preferred).Strong communication and leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.Passion for running, community engagement, and craft beer.Comfortable working weekends for events and occasional evenings for team meetings.

Founded in Minneapolis, MN in 2012, the Brewery Running Series organizes over 300+ events annually across the U.S. and Puerto Rico territory. Each event is a fun run that starts and ends at a local brewery, cidery, winery or coffee shop.
