The VUE seeks a motivated and dynamic Director of Events to join our team and bring beautiful events to this stunning, newly renovated venue. This stunning venue among acres of rolling hills offers a picturesque backdrop to special events of every type. Qualifications: • 5+ years’ managerial/event experience in a high-volume catering facility or restaurant • Passion for great people & great events • Sales driven nature • In-depth knowledge of banquet operations, event planning, and customer service excellence • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations • Proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing • Experience with Toast and TripleSeat a plus • Project management skills and a detail-oriented eye • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results • Able to perform moderately strenuous activity including lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 40lbs • Ability to work both individually and in a team setting • Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends and holidays • Able to stand and walk for long periods • Strong social media skills (Facebook and Instagram especially) • Local marketing experience preferred Responsibilities: • Oversee all aspects of banquet operations at The Vue, ensuring exceptional service and a seamless experience for guests • This role requires strong leadership skills, a background in hospitality management, and a passion for the food industry • Collaborate closely with kitchen staff and event coordinators to deliver outstanding events that meet high standards • Distribute all meeting information and supplies to attending personnel • Resolve any customer and or staff disputes • Supervise and coordinate all banquet activities, including setup, service, and breakdown • Manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of service • Collaborate with the culinary team to create menus that meet client specifications and dietary needs • Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate reporting of financial transactions • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas before, during, and after events • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within food service management • Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to maintain customer satisfaction • Utilize Toast POS systems effectively for order processing and inventory management • Monitor and enhance team member performance, provide supervision, create schedules, conduct evaluations • Recruit, interview and train team members • Field sales calls and email inquiries with timely and hospitality-driven responses, convert leads to bookings and finalize event contracts • Work on-site at varying times and hours to accommodate client meetings, tours, walkthroughs, and events • Embody the culture of The VUE and help cultivate that mindset in the team for seamless and enjoyable events • Create and nurture new leads for weddings, corporate & private events, and golf outings • Support The VUE public relations/outreach efforts in the local community • Coordinate with event guests throughout their booking experience to ensure their needs are met • Build rapport with clients quickly to foster trust and confidence • Supply information and content for marketing materials and social media when possible • Work with a range of client budgets while maximizing profits • Assist in the design of brochures and other promotional materials Compensation & Benefits: • Pay: $90,000 - $115,000 - Based Upon Experience • Health Insurance Plan Available • Two Weeks Paid Vacation • 401k Program
