Director of Private Events Location: Lexington, KentuckyType: Full-TimeIndustry: Entertainment, Hospitality, EventsPosition OverviewWe are seeking a driven, highly organized, and relationship-focused Director of Private Events & Partnerships to lead private event sales, strategic partnerships, and event coordination for a growing entertainment and hospitality venue in Lexington, Kentucky.
This role is responsible for generating revenue through private event bookings, local business relationships, sponsorships, and community partnerships while ensuring exceptional event execution and client experiences. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, understands the local market, and has the ability to build meaningful partnerships that bring new business, events, and brand visibility to the venue.
The Director of Private Events & Partnerships will serve as both a sales leader and a community-facing representative of the venue, helping position the business as a premier destination for entertainment, nightlife, corporate functions, weddings, social events, and branded experiences in Central Kentucky.
This position will report to the General Manager of the venue and receive a clear KRA upon hiring that will be reviewed monthly.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrivate Event Sales & Business DevelopmentGenerate and manage leads for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings, VIP experiences, nonprofit events, and private partiesConduct venue tours, client meetings, and consultationsDevelop customized event proposals, pricing packages, and contractsBuild and maintain relationships with local event planners, businesses, tourism organizations, and hospitality partnersMeet and exceed monthly and annual event revenue goalsIdentify opportunities to increase revenue through upsells, premium experiences, and recurring bookingsPartnerships & SponsorshipsDevelop strategic partnerships with local businesses, brands, organizations, promoters, universities, and community groupsNegotiate sponsorship deals and partnership agreements that increase venue exposure and revenueSecure sponsored events, branded activations, and collaborative community eventsCreate creative partnership opportunities tailored to sponsor and venue goalsMaintain strong long-term relationships with sponsors and business partnersEvent Planning & ExecutionServe as the primary point of contact for private event clients from inquiry through completionCoordinate event logistics including timelines, rentals, staffing, catering, décor, entertainment, and production needsOversee event setup, execution, and breakdown to ensure a high-quality guest experienceWork alongside operations, bar, security, production, and entertainment teams to execute successful eventsHandle client concerns and operational challenges professionally and efficiently during eventsCommunity & Brand EngagementRepresent the venue at networking events, community functions, and industry gatheringsHelp increase venue visibility and reputation throughout Lexington and the surrounding regionCollaborate with marketing and social media teams to promote events, sponsorships, and partnershipsIdentify new opportunities for venue growth, community involvement, and brand collaborationReporting & OperationsTrack event sales, sponsorship revenue, and partnership performanceMaintain CRM databases, sales pipelines, and event reporting systemsAssist leadership with forecasting, budgeting, and growth initiativesEnsure contracts, invoices, and event documentation are completed accurately and on timeQualifications5+ years of experience in private event sales, partnerships, sponsorships, hospitality, entertainment, or venue management preferredStrong communication, networking, and relationship-building skillsProven ability to generate revenue and close dealsExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesComfortable working in fast-paced hospitality and live event environmentsAbility to work nights and weekends as neededExperience with CRM systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms preferredIdeal Candidate TraitsOutgoing, professional, and relationship-drivenEntrepreneurial mindset with strong sales instinctsPassion for hospitality, entertainment, nightlife, and live eventsCreative problem solver with attention to detailSelf-motivated and proactiveWell-connected in the Lexington market or eager to build a strong local networkCompensation & BenefitsBase salary + commission opportunitiesPerformance-based bonuses and partnership incentivesFlexible scheduling opportunitiesGrowth opportunities within the companyAccess to venue events and entertainment experiences
