Event and Catering Manager

Our client, a prestigious hospitality group known for its exceptional service and unique venues, is seeking a highly organized and creative Event and Catering Manager to lead their event services department in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of a wide range of events, from corporate functions and weddings to private parties and conferences. You will work closely with clients to understand their vision, develop customized event proposals, manage budgets, coordinate with vendors, and oversee all logistical aspects to ensure seamless and memorable experiences. Responsibilities include managing the catering sales team, driving revenue growth, developing marketing strategies, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and leading the event staff to provide outstanding guest service. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. A strong understanding of event planning, catering operations, menu development, and beverage service is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field, along with at least 4 years of progressive experience in event planning and catering management, is required. Experience with event management software and a strong network within the local event industry are advantageous. This role demands a hands-on approach and a commitment to delivering excellence.

Key Responsibilities: Plan, manage, and execute all aspects of catered events and functions. Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability. Create customized event proposals and menus in collaboration with clients. Oversee all logistical arrangements, including venue setup, audiovisual needs, and staffing. Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Supervise and train event staff, ensuring high standards of service. Drive sales efforts and achieve revenue targets for catering and events. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Handle client inquiries, negotiations, and contract finalization. Maintain strong relationships with clients and seek opportunities for repeat business. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in event planning and catering management. Proven track record in managing successful events and achieving financial goals. Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu planning, and service standards. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and client service abilities. Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
