• 6 months, with paid job readiness training • Includes supportive services and job placement assistance • Work with city agencies and nonprofit organizations The Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to participate in the Mayor's Office of Employment Development's Hire Up program. The mission of the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce is to energize small business and economic development. Responsibilities : • Event Assistance : • Support the events team in coordinating a diverse range of events, from business mixers, to trainings, to full-day conferences • Accompany managers to all activities, acting as a crucial team member • Promote events across all platforms to maximize attendance and engagement • Contribute to creative decisions, providing valuable input for enhancing event experiences • Logistical and Administrative Support : • Assist the Events Manager with logistical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth event operations • Maintain accurate records of bookings, including venue and catering, and handle payments when necessary • Meeting Participation : • Attend all meetings, serving as a second point of contact and ensuring comprehensive understanding of event details • On-site Duties : • Handle ad-hoc responsibilities at events, such as list management and guest seating • Assist with efficient event setup, dismantling, and completion • Ensure all branded items for events arrive on time and are displayed appropriately The Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce is an equal-opportunity employer and encourages candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
