Job Overview: The Event Services Manager position plays a key role in supporting the mission of ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone on campus. This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional event planning and coordination services to clients. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinates with event planners and staff to ensure seamless event execution by communicating effectively and identifying potential issues • Meets with clients to determine needs and provides assistance in the planning stages of each conference and event, resulting in enhanced customer satisfaction • Determines fee schedules and negotiates rates charged from multi-tiered fee schedules based on industry standards and market analysis • Develops and implements procedures and standards for venue operations to improve efficiency and reduce risk • Trouble-shoots issues with software on behalf of the department, ensuring minimal disruption to operations • Prepares reports for facility usage optimization and event summaries, providing valuable insights for future decision-making • Explains policies and procedures to customers and staff, promoting a culture of transparency and compliance • Provides leadership and management to units under supervision, including hiring, coaching, and termination of direct reports, to foster growth and development Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as hospitality or business administration • Ability to make independent decisions in the best interest of the facility/department, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment • Knowledge of Risk Management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements • Excellent communication skills to work as a high-level customer service representative, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
