The Event Coordination Specialist supports the planning, permitting, coordination and evaluation of over 250 diverse programs and events produced and permitted by the Office of Special Events. Under general direction, the Event Coordination Specialist will assist event coordinators with understanding the requirements for events; coordinate City department involvement in review, approval and denial of special event applications; assist with coordination with pre-event site visits, post event evaluation and post event restoration; coordinate multi-departmental communications; assist the Special Events team with events as needed; actively participate in the development, planning and evaluation of diverse policies, programs and events and deliver successful customer service experiences. · Maintain records, prepare reports and invoices for organizations and event coordinators · Research and request bids for equipment rentals and purchases • Conduct training on event planning for department staff and general public Coordination of site logistics
