When not working outside the bakery, this person will bring the joy in the bakery as a Joy Creator (Guest Service Rep). About the Role The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing bakery‑related events both in‑store and off‑site, including community outreach, vendor events, corporate drop‑offs, holiday promotions, and special celebrations. The role works closely with the management team to ensure every event reflects the brand’s commitment to warmth, quality, and exceptional guest experience. The candidate will also be trained as a Joy Creator (Guest Service Representative), sweetening up the place, setting the mood, and ensuring every stop in the bakery is an event worth posting about. Event Coordinator Key Responsibilities Coordinate and execute bakery events, including vendor fairs, corporate deliveries, community partnerships, and seasonal promotions. Serve as the primary point of contact for event partners, ensuring clear communication and a positive experience. Manage event logistics: setup, product preparation coordination, and on‑site representation (must be flexible for nights and weekends). Track event inventory, supplies, and promotional materials. Assist with marketing efforts such as email outreach, social media content support, and community engagement. Maintain strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and repeat partners. Represent the bakery with professionalism, enthusiasm, and brand knowledge. Support in‑store operations as needed, especially during peak seasons. Joy Creator Accountabilities / Duties Promptly greet walk‑in and phone guests with genuine warmth and helpful enthusiasm to determine interests and needs, following NbC Sweet Steps of Service to create a superior guest experience. Maintain strong product knowledge to educate guests on NbC cake distinctions, size and flavor profile options, pricing, special promotions, and complimentary retail merchandise. Suggest additional merchandise, including balloons, candles, and cards, to complete a unique celebration. Process guest orders efficiently and accurately utilizing the point‑of‑sale system, and invite guests to join the NbC Email Club to benefit from special promotions and stay connected. Uphold a clean and organized bakery presentation, including routine sweeping/mopping of the floor and dusting/cleaning of countertops, windows, and other surfaces. Replenish retail merchandise and cake display case to ensure a strong visual presentation. Assist the Crafter in preparing cake decorations and packaging supplies as needed. Comply with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene. Maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record. Qualifications Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities. Comfortable speaking with customers, vendors, and community partners. Creative problem‑solver with a positive, team‑oriented attitude. Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends or early mornings for events. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Current Need for Availability During festival/event season, most take place on the weekends and can involve early setup, late teardown, or both. In‑Bakery Coverage as a Joy Creator The more flexible you are, the better! We request AT LEAST 25–30 hours of weekly availability.
