Event Coordinator & Producer

We are searching for an Event Coordinator & Producer to support our growing events business. The ideal candidate has 5 years of event or floral experience, a deep love for the craft, sales and customer service experience, as well as strong leadership skills with the ability to organize events effectively and efficiently.

Main job responsibilities include overseeing all event sales and event customer service, managing event installations, and maintaining an efficient and positive event production environment. We are looking for selflessness, a bright and helpful disposition, a desire to be part of a team and a strong work ethic.

Event Sales - You will take the lead on identifying new business opportunities for UFS in the events space by doing outreach to wedding venues, event planners and venues. You will spend a meaningful amount of time on the road and in the metro Detroit area advertising our event capabilities and building new relationships.

Event Organizer - You will be the client and logistics organizer for all events. These events will include University of Michigan events, corporate events, bridal showers, baby showers, and weddings. Using Dubsado as our CRM, you will onboard clients, set up meetings, be the immediate point person to manage clients throughout the event process, collect payment and close out all transactions. This position will be integral in logistics and coordination for event work. In addition to independent client events, you will help organize and assist with UFS events, including holidays (Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Graduation etc.), staff parties/holiday treats, and workshops. This position will actively be improving and documenting the systems we have in place to improve the event portion of UFS.

Event Producer - You will be responsible for seeing events through - start to finish! This will include working with the events team to accurately fulfill client visions and managing day of logistics and design to bring events to life! This will include but is not limited to management of floral product, coordination of people, physical delivery and setup, and on site design work.

Previous experience in event work or the floral industry.

PAY, BENEFITS, & SCHEDULING

The typical production week runs 9am - 5pm, Tuesday to Friday with most event installs on Saturday. Saturday availability is a must
Hourly rate of pay (beginning at $25) determined based on industry experience
Wholesale flower purchasing rights
Full time - approximately 40 hours a week with paid overtime if applicable
Five days paid time off
Holiday time off including; Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Weekend, Christmas Day through New Year’s Day
