Position Summary

As an Event Lead, you will be the face of Dirt Surf Coffee at on-site events. You are responsible for the full lifecycle of mobile espresso bar operations: professional setup, high-volume drink preparation, exceptional customer service, social media content capture, and efficient teardown/pack-up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, people-facing environments, loves coffee, and wants to grow with a passionate small business. Key Responsibilities

Event Setup & OperationsTransport, set up, and configure the mobile espresso bar (equipment, signage, product displays, and workspace) at event venues in a timely and professional manner.Manage all aspects of running the bar during events, including inventory control, drink preparation, and maintaining a clean, inviting station.Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality beverages (espresso-based drinks, custom lattes, cold brews, teas, hot chocolate, and seasonal specials) using our locally roasted beans and premium ingredients.Customer Experience & SatisfactionDeliver warm, engaging, and personalized service to guests, ensuring every interaction reflects the Dirt Surf Coffee brand — energetic, friendly, and community-oriented.Monitor guest flow, manage lines efficiently during peak times, and proactively address any questions or concerns to maintain high satisfaction.Uphold food safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards at all times.Teardown & LogisticsEfficiently break down, clean, pack, and secure all equipment and supplies post-event.Ensure the mobile unit and gear are returned in excellent condition for the next event.Marketing & Social MediaCapture high-quality photos and short videos of the event, drinks, guests enjoying coffee, and behind-the-scenes moments.Contribute to real-time social media promotion (Instagram, etc.) by posting or providing content that highlights the event and boosts brand visibility.Additional DutiesAssist with pre-event preparation (loading supplies, menu customization).Provide feedback on event performance, customer trends, and opportunities for improvement.Support general business needs such as occasional roasting assistance, delivery runs, or pop-up events as needed.Growth & Partnership Opportunity

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience:Prior barista experience (minimum 1 year preferred) with strong knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, and drink recipes.Event, catering, or hospitality experience, as well as ability to pull and tow a trailer is a big plus.Skills & Traits:Passion for coffee, customer service, and creating positive experiences.Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Creative eye for photography and social media content.Physical stamina to lift equipment (up to 65 lbs), stand for long periods, and work outdoors in varying weather.Other:Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record (company vehicle or personal vehicle use may be required).Flexible availability for weekends, evenings, and varying event schedules.Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain).Alignment with Dirt Surf values: love of adventure, community, quality, and hard work.What We Offer
