Event Manager

The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, located in Newtown, Connecticut, carries forward the gentle promise of a little girl who reminded us to “tell your friends I am kind.” Through education, community engagement, and direct service programs, the sanctuary fosters compassion for all living beings—ensuring animals live free from harm in homes and native habitats. The Event Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the sanctuary’s community events and volunteer-driven programs. This position ensures the seamless delivery of mission-aligned experiences that engage the public, strengthen partnerships, and support the Sanctuary’s educational and outreach goals. • Supervise and support volunteers during events and programs. Compensation and Benefits • Salary: $58,000–$63,000 annually, commensurate with experience • Paid Time Off: 15 days per year (accrued after 90 days) • Holidays: 10 federal holidays plus one floating personal day • Health Care: $5,000 annual contribution toward a health plan through Access Health CT • Sick Days: Flexible, based on wellness and health needs
