2026 Event Manager Job Description LOCATION: Historic Shady Lane | 475 Shady Lane Manchester, PA 17345 Historic Shady Lane, Pennsylvania’s premier outdoor wedding and events venue, is seeking qualified Event Managers for all weddings and events scheduled May through October of 2026. • Must be available for pre-season training at the venue in mid-April 2026 (training is paid) • Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays May through October 2026 • Must be able to work alone at 80% of the time (self-starter attitude) • Must be able to lift tables and chairs and be on your feet for long periods of time • Must possess a valid driver’s license, as all Event Managers will provide golf cart assistance to guests • Must be detail-oriented and a problem-solver in a fast-paced event environment • Must be dependable and possess a strong work ethic, with a teamwork mentality • Must maintain a professional appearance at all times • Must have reliable transportation to and from Historic Shady Lane for all scheduled shifts • Provide outstanding customer service to all Historic Shady Lane clients and guests • Work alongside and assist contracted vendors as needed throughout all events • Perform walkthroughs of the entire property before clients, guests, and vendors arrive • Work directly with the couples’ contract planner to aid as needed • Carefully review and adhere to event timeline and all key details • Understand all venue policies and ensure vendors and guests adhere to policies • Move tables and chairs as needed throughout the event • Clean, set up, and tear down ceremony chairs • Clean, set up, and tear down cocktail hour tables, chairs, and furniture • Clean spaces and remove trash from suites at beginning and end of event rental period • Provide golf cart assistance and parking directions through the event to both vendors and guests • Stock and clean guest restrooms before, during, and after event • Monitor temperature of the tent and greenhouse, turn on/off fans and heaters as needed • Build and start fire in garden house fireplace or at tent fire pit as requested by Renter • Complete duties as assigned during event and complete Event Manager check list for each event • Ensure all guests, vendors, and rentals are removed from the property post-event
