Event Manager

Role Description The Event Manager is a part-time, on-site role based at The Villa in Virginia Beach, VA. This position is responsible for overseeing events including managing client communication, and executing event timelines and floor plans. Tasks include coordinating with catering, décor, and audio-visual vendors; event setup and breakdown; and ensuring that all logistics run smoothly. The Event Manager is responsible for the management and execution for various events, overseeing event logistics including on-site coordination, client relations, vendor management, and resolving on-site issues promptly and professionally. 

Qualifications

Experience in event planning and on-site event management, preferably in a venue, hospitality, or catering environment.Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, vendors, and internal teams.Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.Comfort with basic budgeting, scheduling, and use of event management or office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools).Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule, and to perform tasks that may involve standing and walking for extended periods.High attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality guest experience.Preferred: prior experience in wedding or special events management and a relevant associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field.
