The Event Manager is responsible for providing professional client support in the planning, organization, and management of events within the facility. • Establishes and maintains contact with client upon assignment of an event • Serves as primary liaison between clients and facility departments • Maintain rapport with clients, their associates, service suppliers, and building staff insuring the highest level of customer service • Meets with and guides clients to plan and organize assigned events and interprets, explains, and implements contract provisions, facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures • Coordinates activities with various service contractors for assigned events • Keeps clients informed as to the status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, and event timelines • Secures/coordinates pertinent event information for the most effective use of the facility including room set-ups, utility requirements, audio-visual needs, appropriate security, and other staffing • Produces computer generated floor plans and determines facility equipment requirements • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed event requirements to facility departments on a timely basis • Prepares cost estimates and monitors final billing • Participates in weekly production meetings to review upcoming event details with all building departments • Required to work irregular schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business and client needs in the facility • Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. A good knowledge of the principles of administration as they relate to provision of facilities, services and equipment in a convention, exhibition, conference, or entertainment center. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. Ability to work well as a collaborator.
