Job Description This role involves: • Planning, servicing, and supervising large events • Directing and evaluating the work of subordinates • Providing leadership for event personnel • Analyzing challenges, identifying alternative solutions, and implementing recommendations in support of organizational objectives • Communicating clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, contractors, and facility users • Working a flexible schedule, including long nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Duties The Event Manager is responsible for: • Assisting in the advancement of events/shows • Preparing the building to meet upcoming event requirements • Completing pre-show event financial estimates • Completing post-show event settlements • Advising lessees on services available from independent contractors • Recruiting and training event, parking, and security staff • Creating work schedules and delegating assignments • Coordinating communication between building and show staff • Maintaining equipment for event, parking, and security staff • Cleaning the facility prior to, during, and after events • Making hospitality arrangements as needed • Reviewing emergency planning procedures with event staff • Creating and distributing detailed data sheets before events Requirements
