The role of Event Manager – Private Events plays a pivotal part in the estate’s operational success and revenue generation. This exempt position reports directly to the Events Director and is tasked with the comprehensive management of private events such as weddings, corporate gatherings, and special celebrations. These events are not only significant revenue drivers but also serve as essential touchpoints for engaging new audiences and promoting the mission of the organization. This role requires a candidate who excels in client service, operational coordination, and financial oversight while sharing a commitment to the estate's preservation and cultural values.

As the Private Events Manager, you will manage the entire client lifecycle from initial inquiry and onsite tours to contract negotiations and flawless event execution. You are the face of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens to private clients and vendors, ensuring every interaction is marked by professionalism and hospitality that reflect the estate’s high standards. The position emphasizes delivering inclusive, welcoming experiences that honor diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) efforts. This position demands strong skills in sales, hospitality, organizational communication, and financial management. You will be responsible for managing event budgets, tracking revenues, coordinating with vendors, and overseeing logistical details that ensure smooth, safe, and enjoyable events. Furthermore, adherence to estate policies and preservation guidelines is essential to protect the historic environment. You will collaborate cross-departmentally with marketing, development, and visitor experience teams to promote events effectively and support fundraising initiatives.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least five years within hospitality, event sales, or related fields. Regular availability for evening and weekend events, physical stamina to navigate the expansive estate, and an unwavering ethical approach to client and vendor relations are vital.
