Event Operations Manager

Join a dynamic and rapidly growing event management company in Des Moines, Iowa, US , as an Event Operations Manager. This role is essential for ensuring the seamless execution of a wide range of client events, from corporate functions and festivals to private celebrations. You will be responsible for overseeing all logistical aspects of event production, including venue coordination, vendor management, staffing, budgeting, and on-site management. The Event Operations Manager will work closely with the sales and creative teams to translate client visions into successful, tangible experiences. Key responsibilities include developing detailed event timelines and operational plans, managing event budgets and tracking expenses, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers (caterers, AV technicians, decorators, security), and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and permits. You will lead and manage event staff and volunteers on-site, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences. Troubleshooting and problem-solving in real-time during events is a critical aspect of this role. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to event planning. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for effective team and vendor management. Proven experience in event production, logistics management, or a related field is required. The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing circumstances is paramount. A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event operations or management is required.
