JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's Development Events Department is looking for an Event Planner to fulfill the following duties:
• Manages all aspects of planning & design for major events for Clemson University Advancement that encourages donors and prospects to further the University's strategic priorities.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

40% - Essential - High Level Donor Events: Directs major on and off-campus special events with particular focus on donors who have given gifts of $1 million or more. Directs and oversees all planning and coordination of major donor functions, building dedications and openings, major gift announcements and other events hosted by the President of the University. Communicates with donors, staff and University leadership including event invitations and responses.

20% - Essential - Annual Events: Directs annual events in collaboration with specific teams within the Advancement Division. Events include large-scale giving society inductions (Legacy Dinner) to intimate celebrations of philanthropic milestones (Leaf Ceremony, Will Signing Day, etc.). Coordinates annual on-campus, student fundraising events (Give Day).

20% - Essential - Project Management: Directs event team providing overall direction for how the event should run and how the staff should operate. Manages timelines and phases of multiple events occurring simultaneously. Develops business processes used in planning and execution of events. Manages large budgets for events. Manages all database details for events, such as RSVPs and attendance, in the Cadence Database.

20% - Essential - President and First Lady's Suite Support: Assists with planning for the upcoming football season with follow up meetings, timeline creation, promotional items, invitation creation, invitation distribution, and other hospitality items and tasks as needed. Requires Night & Weekend work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - A bachelor's degree and related experience in an area such as alumni development, fundraising, prospect research, or business development.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience - 3+ Years in Event Planning

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as Lead - Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience - 3+ Years in Event Planning

WORKING CONDITIONS:

10% - Exposure to heat or cold
5% - Wet or humid
5% - Noise
15% - Overnight Travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($ 50,833.00 - $ 58,000.00)
