The Thomas Jefferson Foundation seeks a full-time Event Planner Reporting to the Director of Events and Food & Beverage, this hands-on position coordinates a variety of events being hosted at Monticello's venue spaces, including weddings, social functions, and corporate events, in addition to assisting with public and private events hosted by Monticello, such as July 4th and Founder's Day This... position is responsible for guiding event decision making for both internal and external clients, logistical planning, staffing and vendor coordination, client relations, and impeccable communication (both written and oral) with foundation departments to ensure successful events The Event Planner will arrange details of all events consistent with Monticello's standards Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with three to five years of progressively responsible professional experience in event, meeting and/or conference planning is required The successful candidate will be an energetic self-starter with an unwavering positive attitude Strong attention to detail and flawless organizational skills are crucial for success Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook is required and experience working with event scheduling software is desired Must have the proven ability to work and maintain a professional demeanor in an ever-changing and high-stress environment Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be available to work non-traditional shifts such as evenings, weekends, and holidays Position is open until filled.
