We are looking for an Event Planner and Outreach Coordinator to join the City of Charleston's Executive Department! In this role, you will support the Office of Cultural Affairs ongoing and seasonal promotional efforts by planning and managing a variety of events... Coordinates outreach programs with local organizations.Develops, prioritizes, and implements event project plans, including customer promotion programs, coordination of centralized calendars and ticketing systems, and patron/contact management software to optimize revenues and public awareness.Researches, writes, and edits promotional materials, and creates digital content.Negotiates contracts and maintains relationships with preferred vendors.Compiles estimated cost models, submits final budget, tracks budget statistics, and prepares management reports.Researches artists, venues, and partners for potential events and programs.Sets up project meetings, organizes materials, reviews transportation itineraries, and books venues and services.Coordinates registration and payment procedures, promotional advertising and mailings, and sponsorship activities.Organizes required catering services and room and communication equipment setup. Manages on-site staffing and support.Determines appropriate responses to problems and emergencies.Provides project status updates and compiles reports.Performs other duties as assigned.
