Our client, a premier event management company specializing in high-end corporate functions, is seeking a talented and experienced Event Planner to manage and execute sophisticated events. This role is based in Des Moines, Iowa, US , and requires a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented professional with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in planning and executing a variety of corporate events, from conferences and galas to product launches and executive retreats. This is a contract position with the potential for ongoing engagements.
Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, plan, and execute a wide range of corporate events, ensuring they align with client objectives and brand standards. Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor negotiation, catering, A/V, décor, and entertainment. Develop detailed event budgets and manage expenses to ensure projects remain within financial parameters. Source, select, and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Create event timelines and project plans, ensuring all deadlines are met. Coordinate event staffing, including registration, guest services, and on-site support. Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring seamless operations. Conduct post-event evaluations and debriefings with clients and internal teams to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. Stay abreast of industry trends, new venues, and innovative event concepts. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations. Assist with client communication and relationship management throughout the planning process. Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Event Planner or similar role, with a portfolio of successful corporate events. Strong understanding of event management principles and practices. Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities. Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills. Creative flair and a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and vendors. Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules. A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
