Event planner needed for charity cycling series for Autism

The Nation’s largest charity cycling series to support Autism and disabilities is looking for an energetic Event Coordinator to help execute our remaining Charity cycling events in September and October. You will be helping plan three (3) of our remaining, covid-friendly events on the following dates: • New England (Boston to Newport, RI): September 18, 2021 • New York (NYC to Smith Point, LI)): October 2, 2021 • Houston (Houston to Galveston, TX): October 30, 2021 You will be charged with helping create an amazing experience for our 400+ cyclists and volunteers at each event. This role is primarily a planning role, not an execution role. And it will be your job to work with our team to plan events that amaze our fundraisers/riders flawlessly, including: • Coordinate with internal staff, volunteers, vendors, and others to establish needs for events • Research resources, make site visits, and lead pre-event meetings when necessary to help staff make decisions about event design and execution • Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, food and catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials You will be an important part of a passionate, hardworking team that likes to work hard and have enjoys doing it. • Experience and mindset: o Proven success as an event planner or coordinator o Strong interpersonal and communication skills o Experience in maintaining and building enriching business relationships o Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and meticulous attention to detail o Ability to handle pressure and make split-second decisions o Teamwork is a must (Teamwork makes the dream work!)
