Event Planner/Communications Specialist

Fahrenheit Advisors is assisting our client in the search for an Event Planner/Communications Specialist. If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the position... of Environmental Communications Specialist at Applied Environmental, a Woman-Owned environmental consulting firm located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. You will work closely with our project managers and technical experts to produce high-quality content that showcases the impact and value of our work. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and promoting large-scale events, such as Earth Day, Energy Action Month, Safety Month, and Fire Protection Week. To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills: • A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, environmental studies, or a related field • Four to six years of experience in communications, preferably in environmental consulting or federal agency setting • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy • Creativity and innovation, with the ability to generate fresh and compelling ideas for different formats and channels • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines and changing priorities • Knowledge and interest in current environmental issues, trends, and best practices • Proficiency in using various tools and software for graphic design, video editing, web development, and social media management
