We offer training, skills development & career mobility, providing opportunities for advancement at every level A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event planningBachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of hotel and/or food & beverage experience preferredMust be experienced in general computer knowledge and programsA true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environmentRefined verbal and written communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally & in writing, with public and other Team MembersPresent a professional appearance and confidenceCandidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast paced environmentStrong time management & multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressureUnderstanding of negotiation and interpretation of contractsHave comprehensive knowledge of all operational departments within the hotel; guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audio visual, banquets, accounting, restaurants and engineeringDemonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to exceed standards and expectationsKnowledge of meeting room set-ups and capabilities, sleeping room configurations and typesRespond to requests by Meeting Planners immediatelyCreate, review and revise rooming lists and VIP listsManage meeting space and adjust in order to ensure maximum potential revenueMaintain price integrity both in rooms and food and beverage, using revenue managementPre-check room setups, prior to arrival of the groupRelay accurate forecast information for rolling forecastsInteract with outside planners, vendors for event set-upManage existing accounts and follow up with client re-solicitation to capture future businessResponsible for increasing overall revenue per attendee by upselling techniques, rooms management strategies, value added offerings and other creative methodsExperience creating and writing menus to fit event’s needs.Preferred candidate has completed PSS or equivalent training
