Event Setup & Venue Maintenance Technician Part-Time | 24–30 Hours per Week | $22–$24 per Hour Historic 1625 is a busy Tacoma wedding and special event venue looking for a highly responsible, dependable and detail-oriented person to help maintain our facility and prepare the venue for weddings and special events. Responsibilities - Set up and take down tables, chairs and venue décor for weddings and special events - Clean and maintain event spaces, offices, restrooms and other areas of the building - Perform routine cleaning, including mopping floors, washing windows and removing trash - Assist with basic exterior maintenance and upkeep of the grounds - Hang and remove event decorations, ceiling draping and lighting as needed - Safely use ladders, hand tools, a scissor lift and other equipment - Complete event setups accurately and on schedule - Follow venue procedures and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and appearance What We're Looking For - Exceptional reliability and punctuality - Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work - Ability to work independently with limited supervision - Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including moving tables and chairs, climbing ladders, bending, reaching, standing for extended periods, washing windows, mopping floors and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75 pounds - Willingness and ability to be trained to safely operate a scissor lift and other equipment used in the position - Reliable transportation and ability to report to work on time for scheduled shifts, including early-morning and weekend shifts - Ability to work a schedule that varies based on weddings and other events Preferred Experience - Previous janitorial, custodial, building maintenance or event setup experience - Experience setting up weddings or special events - Experience hanging ceiling draping and/or event lighting - Experience safely operating a scissor lift Hours & Pay $22–$24 per hour, depending on experience This is a year-round, part-time position averaging approximately 24–30 hours per week. Weekend and early-morning availability is required. Typical shifts are Thursday through Sunday, beginning around 6:00 a.m. and ending around noon or later.
