We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and energetic Event Specialist to help elevate our mission and expand our impact through engaging, meaningful, and memorable community events. In this role, you will be an ambassador for our animal foundation, creating experiences that connect people with our mission, promote animal welfare, encourage adoptions and fostering, and inspire community support.

Your enthusiasm, communication skills, creativity, and attention to detail will help drive successful events while ensuring every interaction leaves a positive impression. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in nonprofit marketing, community outreach, fundraising, and event coordination while making a tangible difference in the lives of animals and the people who care for them.

Duties

Plan, coordinate, and execute engaging in-person events that raise awareness about animal welfare and showcase the foundation's programs, services, and mission.
Represent the foundation at community events, adoption events, fundraisers, retail partnerships, and outreach activities as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador.
Create and manage social media content that promotes upcoming events, adoptable animals, fundraising campaigns, volunteer opportunities, and other foundation initiatives.
Collect event data, community feedback, donor information, and participation metrics to evaluate outreach efforts and identify opportunities for improvement.
Educate attendees about responsible pet ownership, adoption, fostering, volunteering, donations, and other ways they can support animals in need.
Facilitate engaging animal-focused activities, demonstrations, and educational presentations that encourage community involvement.
Build meaningful relationships with adopters, donors, volunteers, community members, business partners, and supporters by providing exceptional and compassionate service.
Promote adoption and foster opportunities while helping potential adopters understand the responsibilities and benefits of providing a loving home to an animal.
Support fundraising initiatives by confidently communicating the foundation's mission and explaining how donations directly contribute to the care and well-being of animals.
Respond professionally and compassionately to questions, concerns, and sensitive situations involving animals, community members, adopters, and supporters.
Assist with event setup, breakdown, supplies, signage, promotional materials, registration, merchandise, donation collection, and other logistical needs.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, foster families, sponsors, and community partners to ensure events are organized, welcoming, and aligned with the foundation's mission.
Follow all animal-handling, safety, sanitation, and organizational guidelines when working around animals and the public.

Experience & Qualifications

Previous experience in animal welfare, nonprofit organizations, food service, retail, hospitality, customer service, or community outreach is highly valued.
Experience in event marketing, fundraising, promotional activities, community engagement, or public outreach is a plus.
Experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging content tailored to different audiences.
A genuine passion for animal welfare and a strong commitment to the foundation's mission.
Bilingual skills are a plus for connecting with diverse communities and expanding outreach efforts.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak confidently with individuals and groups.
Comfortable presenting information, speaking in public, and educating community members about animal welfare and the foundation's programs.
Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with people from diverse backgrounds.
Technical proficiency with social media platforms, event registration or data collection tools, email communication, and basic point-of-sale or donation systems.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced event environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and outdoor events.
Ability to work comfortably around guinea pigs, goats, dogs, cats, and other animals and follow established animal-safety protocols.
Reliable transportation and the ability to transport or handle event materials may be required depending on event needs.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
