Job SummaryThe Student Programs & Events Planning Eco Rep supports the Office of Sustainability by designing, coordinating, and implementing sustainability-focused programs, events, and engagement initiatives. This role provides hands‑on experience in event planning, project management, outreach, and program assessment while promoting sustainability across the SNHU community. Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of sustainability programs and events.Support major initiatives including Sustainability Week, Earth Month, educational workshops, outreach campaigns, and special events.Coordinate event logistics—scheduling, reservations, materials preparation, setup, and breakdown.Assist with recruiting, coordinating, and supporting volunteers and event participants.Develop and facilitate interactive educational activities, tabling events, and engagement opportunities.Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and community partners to support sustainability initiatives.Promote events through outreach and communication efforts.Collect attendance data, participant feedback, and program outcomes.Support assessment and evaluation efforts to measure program impact and identify opportunities for improvement.Represent the Office of Sustainability at events and campus activities.QualificationsCurrent enrollment in SNHU classes and in good academic standing.Interest in sustainability, event planning, community engagement, or education.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Comfortable engaging with diverse audiences and facilitating conversations.Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programs and events.Must be able to support colleagues with attending or working at other events—including Good Stuff (Winter and last three weeks of classes/week after classes end), Arboretum After Dark in October, and Campus Race to Zero Waste.Driver’s license required.Preferred QualificationsExperience planning, coordinating, or supporting events, programs, or student activities.Experience serving as a student leader, club officer, orientation leader, peer mentor, Resident Assistant, or volunteer coordinator.Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, educational activities, or community programs.Familiarity with sustainability topics and environmental issues.Experience promoting events through social media, presentations, flyers, or outreach campaigns.Experience collecting feedback, evaluating programs, or tracking participation metrics.Desired Skills & CompetenciesEvent planning and coordinationProject management and organizationLeadership and initiativePublic speaking and facilitationCompensationThe hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 — $15.00. The actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
